CONVENTION AND EXPO HOTELS
The OLC has reserved a block of hotel rooms with a group rate of $179/night at the Hyatt Regency (site of the Convention and Expo) and Sonesta (across the street from the Hyatt) in downtown Columbus. Our top priority for welcoming attendees back to the Convention and Expo is doing it safely. The Hyatt’s Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment includes a number of additional safety measures including touch-free options and more frequent sanitization with hospital-grade disinfectants. Staying at the Convention and Expo Hotel Saves You Money!

Did you know that by staying at the Hyatt you are helping to keep other costs associated with the Convention and Expo low? The hotel industry continues to face increasing economic pressures resulting in a host of discount websites and other entities offering discount hotel rates – some of these discounts could be lower than the group rate negotiated by the OLC. On the surface it may seem like a good deal to get the cheaper room rate; however, there are some considerations you should keep in mind. The OLC estimates the number of hotel rooms that will be needed by its members for the Convention and Expo. Contracts are then signed with the Convention hotel to hold those rooms for use by attendees. If the contracted hotel room block is not met, the OLC faces penalty fees and these fees could greatly impact the services delivered to members and, in turn, impact registration rates. There are many advantages to using the Convention headquarter hotel for rooms including:

■ Hotel rooms are in the most convenient location to the Convention and Expo.

■ Attendee safety is addressed.

■ Exceptional group rates are negotiated for members.

■ Attendees are assured of a full-service hotel that has been inspected by the OLC.

This allows for an even greater variety of educational programs at the Convention. The OLC encourages you to stay at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Columbus to ensure that your Convention and Expo experience is the best that it can be!
